Fracture Risk Calculator

Fracture Risk Calculator - New online for Patients in Residential Care Facilities

A Fracture Risk of an Patient is calculated by multiplying the weights of a corresponding
variable for the individual in each category.

In the Example provided below
A person is in a hostel with a balance grade of 5 (weight 4.52),
has a history of a previous fracture (weight 1.56),
has a cognitive function score of 20 (weight 1.41),
takes 6 medications (weight 1.00),
has a body weight of 48 kg (weight 2.14), and
a lower leg length of 51cm (weight 1.27)
Fracture risk for this person is calculated as:
4.52x1.56x1.41x1x2.14x1.27=27.02
This score puts the person in the Highest fracture risk group (>20) with 23.1% chance
of sustaining another fracture
